B.O.L.D. – Policy Initiative in Thailand
The B.O.L.D. – Policy project is a collaborative initiative funded by the European Union and executed by Diakonia, along with Center for Girls Foundation (CFGF) and The Life Skills Development Foundation (TLSDF).
The primary goal of the project is to empower Thai Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) by enhancing their capacity to advocate for inclusive and gender-responsive socioeconomic development and governance.
Key Objectives:
1. Strengthening Civil Society: The project seeks to build the capacities of local CSOs to participate more effectively in policy dialogues. It focuses on empowering these organizations to play a significant role in decision-making processes, particularly in areas that impact marginalized communities.
2. Advocacy for Gender-Responsive Policies: By emphasizing gender inclusivity, the B.O.L.D. – Policy project aims to integrate women’s, youths’, and children’s perspectives into policy discussions. The goal is to ensure that socioeconomic and governance structures are more inclusive and responsive to the specific needs of these groups.
3. Engaging in Policy Dialogue: The project encourages civil society to engage with policymakers at various levels, advocating for changes that foster equitable development. This includes increasing participation in local, regional, and national dialogues, where these organizations can voice concerns and suggest solutions.
4. Socioeconomic Development: The project also aims to promote socioeconomic development by fostering local leadership and ensuring that policies cater to the broader population, including marginalized groups, which are often overlooked.
Collaborating Organizations:
Diakonia: An international development organization that works to change unfair political, economic, and social structures.
Center for Girls Foundation (CFGF): An organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of girls and women.
The Life Skills Development Foundation (TLSDF): Focuses on building life skills among youths and fostering community leadership.
Through this multi-partner collaboration, the B.O.L.D. – Policy project aspires to make policy advocacy more inclusive and strengthen the role of civil society in Thailand’s development trajectory, ensuring that the voices of women, youths, and children are heard and addressed in policy-making.
